SEWER SCREAMS Controls in the public prototype
Honest binds: default Roblox movement, on-screen prompts, and camera habits that keep balloons out of your face.
SEWER SCREAMS does not publish a custom control bible. The July 2026 public prototype runs on default Roblox movement and whatever the HUD prints during a session. This page refuses to invent a unique flashlight key, a lean bind, or a secret crouch. If a prompt appears in your client, that prompt is the manual. Everything else is camera discipline and audio, which matter more than a fancy keymap in liminal pipes.
Read this beside Getting Started and how to play. Survival still comes from not touching red balloons and from hearing water-drip near exits, not from finding a hidden hotkey.
Default movement (keyboard, mouse, pad, touch)
On keyboard and mouse, expect the Roblox baseline:
- WASD to walk. Forward is not always safe; strafing past a balloon string is.
- Jump on Space. Use it for small geometry, not as a panic button into unseen ceiling pipes.
- Camera on mouse look / right-mouse as your client already does. There is no documented “lock on entity” key.
- Sprint only if the experience still uses the usual Left Shift (or your Roblox sprint toggle). If Shift does nothing in your session, you do not have a custom dash. Do not hold random keys looking for one.
On a controller, the left stick moves, the right stick looks, the south face button jumps, and stick-click or the usual Roblox sprint control applies if present. On mobile, the on-screen thumbstick and jump button are the whole scheme until a prompt says otherwise.
Shift-lock and first-person are Roblox camera modes, not unique SEWER SCREAMS features. Some players prefer first-person to read balloon strings against dark walls. Some prefer third-person to see a teammate in a 24-player server. Neither mode is “correct.” Pick the one that lets you reverse out of a junction without swinging the camera through a balloon.
What this wiki will not list
No flashlight toggle. No dedicated “hold breath.” No entity-scan. No emote wheel required for progression. No confirmed codes console bound to a function key — if a redeem field ever appears, it will be HUD or menu, as how to redeem already says.
If a creator overlay shows extra keys, that overlay may be editing software, a different build, or fiction. Trust the prompt in your client after joining the official Kumis Studios place.
Revives, Respect, and the ASCEND / GO DEEPER fork are decisions, not keybinds. You interact with them through whatever button the prototype draws. Mash-spam is how you walk into a balloon while the menu is still open. Stop moving, confirm the highlight, then accept. The fork itself is documented on ascend or go deeper.
Camera habits that actually save runs
The clown-like entity uses tunnels. Your camera should answer that:
- Check the ceiling line when you enter a new pipe. Balloon strings hang. A high camera angle hides them.
- When you hear a scream, rotate first, then sprint — if sprint exists in your build. Blind forward movement is how you trade one threat for a balloon.
- At a T-junction, peek with the smallest mouse move that reveals the next light pool. Wide flicks cost you audio focus.
- In co-op, do not point the camera at a teammate’s back the whole time. You still need side walls. Solo and co-op covers spacing.
Sensitivity is a Roblox setting, not a unique slider. Too high and you skip the balloon. Too low and you cannot turn toward an exit drip. Calibrate in a quiet first corridor, not during a chase.
Audio is part of the control scheme
Headphones are recommended. Loud screams and flashing lights are intentional. Water-drip near exits is a tell you “press” with your ears, not with a key. Mute the rest of your PC. Discord overlay keybinds have stolen more players than a missing sprint.
If screams are physically too much, lower Roblox volume. This wiki will not paste an exploit mute. Conceptual note only: some players look for a way to duck the loudest one-shots; anything that injects into the client is account risk and is not a control we endorse. Accessibility and session comfort
You can play seated or with a thumbstick. You cannot make the prototype stop being a flashing, loud sewer. Take breaks between ten-level blocks. ASCEND if your hands are not steady.
If a prompt adds a unique bind after the run update, this page will name that bind. Until then, assume WASD / stick, jump, camera, optional default sprint, plus on-screen buttons.
Bind confirmation before you drop
Stand still after spawn. Tap WASD or the stick. Jump once. Move the camera across the ceiling and both walls. Try Shift or stick-click once. If sprint happens, you have it; if not, you walk. Then start the run. Do not discover a missing sprint in the first chase. For the rest of the session, entity survival and the walkthrough matter more than the keymap.
